Jazzie
Age: Born on 29 July 2023
Dog Friendly: yes, of course
Kid Friendly: yes
cat friendly: we don't have any, but she is a baby so we are certain she could be at this age.
Jazzie sure is a weird looking boxer isn't she? Jazzie was abandon by a her owner at one of the local shelters. at age 9 weeks. There was a language barrier so the shelter couldn't determine a reason why they were abandoning her. Immediately, she had a family ready to adopt her. While they were waiting to spay her (yes, they were going to spay an 10 week old pup), she got her head caught in the door at the shelter. The shelter sought vet care and they determined that Jazzie was blind and they didnt' know if it was from trauma or congenital. The family that wanted her no longer wanted a "blind" dog. The shelter reached out to us and asked if we could help. In her photo she kind of looked like a boxer mix so we said yes. We got there and saw she obviously wasn't a boxer, but that's not her fault and we couldn't fail her just because of that. We got her to the vet, and the vet determined that she can see some, and any vision issues she may have are congenital. But!!!! Guess what! We have had Jazzie for almost a month (she changes and grows every day)! She is also not blind and any issues she may have definitely don't slow her down or affect her quality of life. We did some research, and it seems dogs vision develops as they grow. She sees perfectly fine and gets around just like the other dogs in the home. It seems she sees better and better every day. She is just pure sweetness and kindness. Boy do we absolutely love her!
The shelter marked her as a mix of Pitbull and Siberian husky, and three weeks ago, we could see that. Now, we are thinking maybe she is some sort of Shepherd mix. Mixed with PERFECTION~
