BOSLEY
This handsome boy was saved from a high-kill shelter and sent to Chico Boxer Rescue where our friend Tracy is going to find him a great home. She had a foster home lined up for him where he is currently living the good life.
update on BOSLEY:
Bosley is a quick learner. He is already learning he doesn't have to bark to get attention and when he does the consequences are not the best. He loves to play fetch and enjoys a game of tug with a rope toy. Tosses it around and if I am not careful shake...s his head with it in his mouth and whacks me in the head. I am usually laughing pretty hard by that time. He is a real love and enjoys sitting or laying on your lap getting lots of love. He is very treat motivated except when it is time to go into his pen. He resists the temptation of a piece of duck jerky on his pillow. If I leave the room he dashes in grabs it and comes out. He is hard to resist when he stares at you defiantly with his lip caught behind his tooth. The snaggle puss look I call it. Some family is missing out on a wonderful teenage boy who just wants to play, be loved and belong. He is going to do fine with other dogs once he gets the basics down. He visits with my pack through the fence with no issues. My large male loves to lay next to the gate with his long legs extended under the gate. Bosley sniffs at them and then walks away. He plays with Honey the equalizer in typical puppy fashion and she puts him in his place when he gets too rowdy. He is so full of himself right now but I have noticed that he startles easily and when another dog reacts to him by barking he high tails it into another room. He is good in the crate and stays in there when I am gone for up to three hours without issue. Objects when he first goes in but corrects quickly. He loves kongs filled with goodies. He has gained a little weight since he got here and needs a little more. He is a small boy and will never be one of those big beefy Boxers. Perfect for lap sitting. Rides well in the car, curls up and goes to sleep. Still needs work on leash. Raining here again so no opportunity to hone his skills. He will be introduced to a none pull harness when the weather clears. Bosley had a rough start obviously had some basic training and probably when he went into the "terrible twos" became too much to handle. Young dogs need stimulation and when they aren't given productive activities often become destructive. He has NOT chewed or destroyed anything here. He does not chew his pillow or blankets and even though he has tried "arranging" my patio stuff, nothing broken. Now you know as much as I do about this pup. He is looking forward to a new home and famly to spend the summer with. The perfect time of year to introduce a new "best friend".
