Molly |
Meet Molly, one of the cutest little Boxer girls you will ever see. Molly came to us 6 weeks ago from the Harbor shelter where she had come in as a stray. She was super excited to get out of the shelter and has been an absolute gem from day one. We don’t know the history of unclaimed strays so they come into foster with one of us where we get to know them and let them write their own story.
If we had to give Molly’s story a title it would be “cassoulet.” She is an ideal weight, but she is the classic sausage body style girl from her frame to her paws and even her chunky nub. And then some Boxers jump and then some jump like jumping beans. When Molly is excited she can bounce all fours almost 4 feet off the floor as if she was on a trampoline. It’s such a hoot to see. And then she paws at you like she’s giving high fives. This is your greeting when you come home or say, “Molly, want to go for a walk?” She’s a pleasure to walk with her great leash manners. She adores belly rubs and gentle strokes Molly is 3 years old and gets along fabulously with other dogs. We don’t know about cats. She is house and crate trained, but does not require a crate as she is not the least bit destructive. She is shy and timid with new people. Loud noises or sudden movements send her cowering. This is not necessarily an indication that she was abused as we have seen dogs like this that have had perfect lives from the get go. However, her ear crop is a home scissor job so we’re pretty sure her former family wasn’t very nice to her. She is really coming out of her shell now though. She barely ate the first few days and now not only dances for her meals but has also become very treat motivated. We’re working on her basic commands. She’s such an easy going girl that will continue to blossom in a loving home where she is given the opportunity to complete a family of her own. |
