SHADOW III

(by foster mommy Elaine): Introducing beautiful Shadow, named so because she won't leave my side. I picked her up from the pound where she was brought in as a stray. She was spayed, had a few upper incisors pulled because they were cutting into her gums, and had a thorough ear cleaning before being released to the adoption floor where I waited in line to snap her up.
She's 10 months old, 48.5 lbs as of her vet visit yesterday. She's VERY friendly with people and exceptionally welcoming and submissive with other dogs. She's deaf but easy to solicit and I think she will be very easily trained on hand signals. I'm working on teaching her a "good girl!" sign (thumbs up) which will be the platform for other training. House training is underway (it's going well) and we'll start crate training when she feels better as she has a touch of kennel cough right now.
I think she will do best in a house where she can learn from another dog. She shows no signs of being destructive in any way (other than her Tail Of Mass Destruction) but is very attached to her humans and hopefully can relax with some canine company around when her people need to leave to do stupid boring human stuff.
Her personality is still emerging but it seems she is not shy about sharing her opinions. She had a very stern talk with me about how silly she thought the towel on my head was after my shower this morning.
