MAX

Max is a  beautiful male fawn 7 to 8 yr old  purebred Boxer. He was an owner surrender.  He  is neutered and up-to-date on  his shots.  He was rescued from a high kill  shelter where he was on the euth list for the next morning.  He had a URI, a  very bad flea infestation, worms, and infection in his eyes.  He has fully  recovered from all and has gained apx. 13 lbs.  He is off of all his meds except  his thyroid which is twice a day and  under control. No big deal.  He is in his  foster home now and is thriving.  He is very well mannered, doesn't climb on  furniture and won't go upstairs unless invited and even then he most of the time  will turn around and go lie on his bed with his pillow and blanket.   He doesn't  chew on anything, doesn't counter
surf or go into the garbage, he isn't a jumper  and doesn't bark unless he is trying to tell you something, he wants in or out,  he communicates in his own way with some of the cutest strangest noises you have  ever heard, it's like he is trying to talk.  He doesn't beg for food.  He is  very sweet and friendly with people, likes kids. He walks very well on a  leash.  He's cautious when he meets other dogs and will pull on the leash but  once corrected he is good.  He  needs proper introduction to new dogs.  He likes  to hang out and sleep and give  those big sloppy Boxer kisses.

update MAX:

Max was pulled from a high-kill shelter where his owner dumped him.

Max is currently in a foster home where he enjoys being a cherished pet. He filled out nicely and got his spunk back. He walks great on the leash and has good house manners.

We are trying to find him a permanent home before Thanksgiving.

Max has moved into a very loving foster home where he completely recovered from everything. He is now a very happy camper!

MAX

7/22/11 - Max arrived at the rescue today. He was pulled in not so good conditions from the Downey shelter. He is going into a foster home and once he settles in, we'll update his status. Meanwhile we know that he is a gentle boy that was nice to the puppy and our kid-volunteer Alexis.
