GRETA IS IN PERMANENT FOSTER!
Greta is now considered a permanent foster by the Walsh family. They were grooming her to be eventually adopted and therefore Miss Greta wasn't allowed certain comfort of home, such as jumping on the furniture, as some people do not want their dogs on furniture.
Well, the rules are now out the window, since Greta will remain with her foster family.
Her test results from her ultrasound came back, as well as the biopsy from the growth on her lung. It is carcinoma and surgery is not an option. The tumor has pretty much taken over her entire left lung lobe. The ultrasound also revealed a sizable mass on the right adrenaline gland of her left kidney, in all likelihood also cancerous.
I will bring Greta's entire file to our oncologist, Dr Ayl, for a consult to see if any treatment is possible.
I had the pleasure of visiting with Greta and her entire family last Saturday night and I can assure you that our precious girl is beyond happy, loved and treasured by all. She is playful, and not in pain. Delaney and Jack are two of the most amazing kids I have ever encountered. Upon hearing the bad news, Hillary and Johnny sat the kids down to prepare them for the inevitable. Since they went through a major loss with their Bruno, only a few months ago, they wanted to make sure the kids would be OK with keeping Greta. Of course, both Delaney and Jack wouldn't even consider giving her back! So now, Miss Greta is allowed on every piece of furniture, to Johnny's great chagrin, and she particularly enjoys the kids beds, as you can see on the following photos.
Is there anything better for a boxer than to share their kid's beds!
Once again, I am in awe of this family and cannot thank them enough for their kindness, generosity, love and friendship.

Greta is the life of the party! Anyone who loves the wiggly joy of a Boxer will be head over heals with Greta.
She's good with other dogs, affectionate with people and all about having fun! She would be the perfect family dog or a great companion for someone on the go. Greta is the perfect introduction to the Boxer breed!
